Use Twitter to check for bad URLs

Malicious links can catch you unaware, but Twitter can root them out. Its “t.co” service shortens URLs and cross-references the original, longer URL to make sure it’s from a legitimate source. If you copy and paste any URL onto t.co, you might receive a warning that “this link may be unsafe.” Twitter has a huge library of safe sites, so you can be fairly confident that the alert is worth considering.
