Apply multiple layers of defense to business networks to create a more secure network. Not only should this include using several different layers of security, but potentially more than one of the same type, too. Using more than one firewall, for example, means that you can partition different parts of the network behind different firewalls. This means that one breach doesn’t open up your entire network to an intruder, and if you use different types of firewalls it’s more likely that a hacker who gets through one won’t be able to penetrate the next using the same methods, thereby slowing them down and increasing chances of detection.
