Filter out spam calls and neighborhood spoofing scams

Have you ever received a spam call from a number in your area code? This is referred to as neighborhood spoofing — the newest phone scam that threatens the public. By masking their call with a recognizable or local area code, scammers convince their target to answer. Some wireless service providers, however, offer a filtering feature that can protect your phone from receiving these unwanted calls. These services will block numbers that fall within that area code and aren’t saved in your contacts. Take this extra step toward protecting yourself from bad actors over the phone.
